BALKAN REGION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

We are very pleased to announce the Scholarship Programme of the International Balkan University for the academic year 2024/2025. As a socially responsible higher education institution, we remain fully committed to supporting education and science in the Republic of North Macedonia and the Balkan region by providing scholarships of up to 100% to the most talented and most successful students. In the past 18 years since our foundation, more than 1500 students have benefited from our Scholarship Programme and today represent highly-qualified professionals, changers of tomorrow, decision-makers for a better world. They are the true ambassadors of International Balkan University, and our modern, qualitative, student-focused, and career-oriented educational system.

With our contemporary study programs that provide our students with countless opportunities to start a career right after graduation; the quality of education recognized internationally by the Shanghai University Ranking which saw IBU on top of the universities in North Macedonia in the field of teaching and learning; curricula completely in English language, international educational environment with students from 20+ countries; dynamic application of Erasmus+ Student Mobility Programme; a world-class campus in Skopje; and most importantly, scholarships of up to 100% for bachelor studies according to student’s success in high school, in the academic year 2024/2025, we strive to add hundreds of new successful students in the same path, with an unchanged vision – excellence for the future!

The IBU Scholarship Programme 2024/2025 is applicable for students who are citizens of the following countries: North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia. The Scholarship Programme is limited to the quota of students for all accredited study programs.

The scholarship rate is also valid for the English Preparatory Programme for candidates who do not have the required proficiency in English.

The student recruitment campaign will continue until 30th September 2024.

The terms and conditions of the contract for students who will be awarded a scholarship are regulated with internal acts of the university.

The IBU Scholarship Programme is sponsored by the Foundation for Education and Culture “ÜSKÜP”, founder and owner of International Balkan University.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME DETAILS
  1. The annual fees and scholarship rates are defined in the table.
  2. The scholarship rates are defined according to the High School GPA
  3. High school GPA is calculated as an overall grade from the transcripts of all years of high school.
  4. The status of ‘student of the generation’ is confirmed with an official letter, signed and sealed by the Directorate of the High School.
  5. Terms and conditions of the contract for students who will be awarded a scholarship are regulated by internal acts of the university.
  6. Their continuation is conditional upon success. If a student fails, more than three courses in a year and if the total attendance rate falls below 70% he/she loses his/her scholarship.
  7. Each student must pay 200€ for the registration fee for the first year of registration.

The regular scholarship rates that will be applied to faculties and departments for the academic year 2024/2025 are as follows:

High School GPA: 4.80-5.00:
Scholarship rate 80%
High School GPA: 4.50-4.79:
Scholarship rate 70%
High School GPA: 4.00-4.49:
Scholarship rate 60%
High School GPA: 3.00-3.99:
Scholarship rate 50%

If enrolled in any of the above departments, in accordance with our Scholarship Regulations, an additional +10% scholarship will be granted on our existing scholarship rates.

Here, we provide a comprehensive overview of the scholarship, including its meaning, eligibility criteria, application process, and the benefits it offers.
What is The Academic Success Scholarship?
The Academic Success Scholarship is awarded to students based on their academic performance during the regular education period of their registered program at the university. It aims to encourage students to maintain high academic standards and reward those who excel in their studies.

Who Can Apply?
Eligibility for the Academic Success Scholarship is determined by several factors:
- Students who have succeeded in all compulsory and elective courses as per their program's curriculum up to the year their academic success grade is calculated.
- Students who have achieved a weighted GPA of at least 9.00.
- Students who rank in the top three of their class, including those on full scholarships.

Application Requirements
There is no need for students to submit a written application for this scholarship. The eligibility is automatically determined by the Student Affairs Department based on the final exam grades of the spring semester. Eligible students are notified in writing by the department within one week following the grade announcements.

Conditions and Regulations
The Academic Success Scholarship comes with specific conditions:
- It is awarded only during the regular education period of the registered program.
- The scholarship is valid for one academic year and is not extended beyond the average education period or for foreign language preparatory classes.
- Students with exemption courses (excluding certain conditions) in the year their grade is calculated are included in the ranking but are not eligible for the scholarship.
- Students on academic or disciplinary suspension in the following year can claim their scholarship rights in the subsequent academic year.
- Tie-breakers are resolved by prioritizing students with more ECTS credits, or, if still tied, the younger student.
- The scholarship is terminated if a student transfers to a different undergraduate program within the institution.
- Graduates holding a bachelor's degree from any higher education institution are included in the success ranking but are ineligible for the scholarship.
- Irregular students become eligible for the scholarship in the academic year they regain regular status.
