About ELS
The goal of the IBU English Language School (ELS) is to provide IBU students with the language skills necessary to pursue academic studies at IBU, regardless of their field of study.
The education at IBU English Language School primarily focuses on the development and mastery of the following skills:

*Students who will enroll in Dentistry, Midwifery, and Nursing programs are required to register for the Medical English Preparatory School.
The ELS program is designed to make academic content at the class level accessible to English learners.
The ELS program aims to develop English language skills through the teaching of English language and culturally sensitive academic content. Students complete their academic year by participating in activities such as poster presentations, seminar papers, various thematic presentations, and research projects.
What is Medical English Preparatory School?
Exemption from English Preparatory School or Direct Transition to the Department
To transition directly to your department without attending the English Preparatory School, you must prove your English language proficiency. Prospective students are required to submit their English proficiency certificates from the following types of English exams:
The exam types are as follows:
– TOEFL
– IELTS
– FCE
– CPE
– CAE
Note: A minimum score of B2 level is required from the above exam types.

During the Medical English preparatory education, additional courses on English terminology for health sciences will be provided.
These courses correspond to 4-8 additional private English lessons per week, depending on the students’ English levels. Medical English preparatory school students will participate in and observe practical courses in Dentistry, Nursing, and Midwifery. Supportive seminars will be organized at the Faculty of Dentistry for Medical English preparatory school students.
